Codux Codux AI

Installation & Updates

Terminal window
brew install --cask duxweb/tap/codux

Upgrade later:

Terminal window
brew upgrade --cask codux

Requires macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later. The cask installs the Developer ID signed, notarized build.

Grab the package for your platform from GitHub Releases:

  • macOS, Apple Siliconcodux-macos-aarch64.dmg
  • macOS, Intelcodux-macos-x86_64.dmg
  • Windowscodux-windows-x86_64-setup.exe

The Windows installer isn’t code-signed yet, so SmartScreen may show “Windows protected your PC”. Click More info → Run anyway. It’s a per-user install (to %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\Codux), so no administrator rights are needed.

The official macOS build is signed and notarized, so it just opens. This fallback only applies if you run an unsigned or development build and see “Cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified.”

Terminal window
sudo xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Codux.app

Or open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down, and click Open Anyway next to the Codux warning.

Codux has a built-in updater with stable and beta channels, so it can update itself in place. On macOS you can also brew upgrade --cask codux, or just re-download the latest package.

  • macOS 14 (Sonoma)+ or Windows (x86_64)
