Installation & Updates
Homebrew on macOS
Section titled “Homebrew on macOS”brew install --cask duxweb/tap/coduxUpgrade later:
brew upgrade --cask coduxRequires macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later. The cask installs the Developer ID signed, notarized build.
Direct download
Section titled “Direct download”Grab the package for your platform from GitHub Releases:

codux-windows-x86_64-setup.exe
Windows first launch
Section titled “Windows first launch”The Windows installer isn’t code-signed yet, so SmartScreen may show “Windows protected your PC”. Click More info → Run anyway. It’s a per-user install (to %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\Codux), so no administrator rights are needed.
macOS first launch
Section titled “macOS first launch”The official macOS build is signed and notarized, so it just opens. This fallback only applies if you run an unsigned or development build and see “Cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified.”
sudo xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Codux.appOr open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down, and click Open Anyway next to the Codux warning.
Updates
Section titled “Updates”Codux has a built-in updater with stable and beta channels, so it can update itself in place. On macOS you can also brew upgrade --cask codux, or just re-download the latest package.
System requirements
Section titled “System requirements”- macOS 14 (Sonoma)+ or Windows (x86_64)
